Panjat Pinang, The Most Awaited Tradition in Indonesia

Panjat Pinang or Betel Nut tree climbing, is a very popular attraction in Indonesia. The nut-tree is chopped-down, lubricated, and put some prizes on top. People will climb the tree to reach the prizes. It is very hard to reach the top because the tree is very slippery. Prizes for grab usually are bicycle, electronics, food, etc.

Panjat Pinang is usually held local people and organizer once a year to celebrate Indonesian Independence Day on 17th August. If you want to see it, come to Indonesia before 17th August.
